June Product Release Notes

Written by Referoo | 01/07/2026

Manual overhead adds up fast when you're managing onboarding, packages and notifications separately, so this month's Referoo updates are designed to hand more control back to your team.

New features and updates

Control and customise auto-sending of 'Welcome to Referoo' invite emails

You now have full control over whether a 'Welcome to Referoo' invite email is sent when creating a new user, so you can onboard users at your own pace without triggering communications before you are ready.

Simply untick 'Send new user email invite' during account creation and the account will be set up without an email being sent. When you’re ready to invite users in bulk, you can select them individually or all at once via the checkbox. Admins can also customise the content of the initial invite email through the Notification Centre, giving you the flexibility to tailor the message to your organisation before it goes out.

Improved package management

Managing a growing library of packages just got easier. You can now search, sort, paginate and duplicate packages directly from the Package page, saving time and reducing the effort involved in maintaining and replicating your configurations.

This is particularly useful if you're managing a large number of packages, where finding a specific configuration or creating a variation of an existing one previously required manual effort.

Communication method now required to enable automatic sending of notifications

You’ll now be prompted to review your settings if you try to enable automatic sending without a communication method in place.

If 'Automatically send requests when candidate is added' (or any of the other options under Communications Settings) is turned on without Email or SMS enabled for the initial candidate invite, a validation error will appear.

Other updates

  • Candidate job title now included in check completion notifications A Job Title placeholder is now available to add to the ‘Check completed by a candidate’ notification template, making it easier to identify which role a completed check relates to.
  • Automatic data redaction retention period options extended – You can now select longer-term automated data redaction periods, including 3-, 5- and 7-year options, within the Account Security Settings section.
  • Right-to-Work (RTW) email improvements – Email notifications sent to candidates for Australian RTW checks have been updated with clearer, more accurate language.
